2018 National Independence Day Parade practice
The BEA band marched and performed in the National Independence Day Parade on July 4, 2018 in Washington, D.C. More information can be found on our district’s website about how the band was selected for this honor. They were also featured in the CDT and WTAJ-TV.

Trout in the Classroom
A group of fourth-grade students from Mountaintop Area Elementary School explain the trout project their class participated in. They received trout in the fall from Trout Unlimited, raised them in class and then released the fish in Beech Creek.

State Ag Secretary Russell Redding at BEA
State Agriculture Secretary Russell Redding stopped by Bald Eagle Area High School for 2018 the state ag showcase that featured the school's agriculture department. It's part of a series of events at the school to celebrate National FFA Week. Redding took the time to chat about how impressed he was with the program and explain why agriculture is so important.

Principal Skip Pighetti slimed
Howard Elementary School Principal Skip Pighetti got slimed. It was to celebrate students who helped Howard win the 2018 Reading Super Bowl — but perhaps no one was more excited to get in on the action than kindergarten teacher Sherri True, who said the day was, “cloudy with a chance of......slime!”

Slime Mr. P!
Howard Elementary School was the winner of the 2018 BEA Reading Super Bowl. As a reward students got to slime Principal Skip Pighetti. Students in this video chant, “Slime Mr. P!” as they lead up to afternoon activities to celebrate their win.

Mountaintop Region water distribution
BEA students and staff helped unload 1,600 cases of water at the Snow Shoe EMS building that were donated by Nestle to the Mountaintop Region. They’ll be distributed to residents facing water problems.
