The state held a Government Bocce Challenge at the Capitol Building in Harrisburg with teams from across the commonwealth including the unified bocce teams from Bald Eagle Area High School. The event was organized in partnership with Special Olympics PA.

In the challenge, the state Department of Education (Edu-gators) defeated the state Department of Health, 3-1, to claim the Government Bocce Challenge title. Other agencies in the tournament were Gov. Tom Wolf (The Wolfpack), members of the Congress and Senate, Geisinger Health and the state Office of Vocational Rehabilitation.

The state championship-winning team from BEA was also recognized on the senate floor with Sen. Jake Corman (R-Benner Township). They were also recognized by Reps. Stephanie Borowicz (R-McElhattan) and Rich Irvin (R-Spruce Creek Township).
