Seniors at Bald Eagle Area High School we’re honored May 3 during the College and Credential Signing Day event organized by the counseling office. It’s an annual tradition to recognize students who have committed to continuing their education, are going into a branch of the military, have found full-time work or are graduating with additional industry certifications.
Of the 112 students, 76 plan to attend a two- or four-year college or trade school, 32 have a job lined up following graduation and four students plan to join the military.
Brianna Coakley, who currently also studies in the cosmetology program at Central Pennsylvania Institute of Science and Technology, plans to continue her studies at the Spring Township-based career and technical school for post secondary education in the Heavy Equipment Operations program. It’s a career path she said she’s always aspired to do.
“I’ve always wanted to do heavy equipment, so now I can pursue my dream and have fun with it,” Coakley said.
Following the ceremony, the honored seniors were invited to an afterparty with food, games and the chance to win prizes.
Graduation this year is set for 11 a.m. June 8 at Alumni Stadium.
