Mini-Thon at Bald Eagle Area Middle and High School raised $6,085 in its second year, bringing the two-year total to more than $10,000. The annual event supports the Four Diamonds fund that benefits families affected by childhood cancer and who are served by Penn State Hershey Children’s Hospital.
The four-hour event on May 10 included a plethora of activities, of course including dancing. There was also a Mr. Mini-Thon competition, which Kyler Cunningham was named the winner. (Photos of the competition are below).
Student organizers said they’re “thrilled” with the turnout and are already looking forward to next year’s event in the mission to help a cause that hits so close to home.
“The event was incredible,” senior Lauren Wellar said. “As the event coordinators of mini-Thon, Lindsey Reynolds and I were absolutely in shock at how many people came this year and how much we raised as a school. We got to help be part of something so special at our school, and for us to truly support the kids we did this for. Laughter and smiles filled Bald Eagle Area.”
