Think you have a chili recipe that stands out from the rest? Bring it to an upcoming chili cook-off to put it to the test.

The event will be held 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Jan. 17 at the Bald Eagle Area High School lobby, and helps support the district’s assistant wrestling coach Michael Cook who was diagnosed with testicular cancer and will be facing a series of treatments.

A $5 donation is encouraged to taste and vote on the best entry. All proceeds will benefit the Cook family.

Cook, a 2006 graduate of BEA and a 2010 graduate of Lock Haven University, is also a state police trooper, but his passion is in wrestling. He started wrestling at age 6, and holds multiple BEA wresting records. He was also a two-time District 6 champion.
