On Feb. 6, the Bald Eagle Area varsity girls’ basketball team is hosting a game against Tyrone Area to support a boy with connections to BEA and Tyrone communities.

According to information from some of the players, fundraising efforts will be made to help support Eddie Coltabaugh, 4 – the son of BEA teacher John Coltabaugh, of Tyrone – who was diagnosed with DiGeorge syndrome, which caused several medical problems since birth. He’s also underwent several surgeries including open heart surgery in July, and is scheduled for more.

To help with developmental progress, Eddie and his family travel across the commonwealth for treatment. He is also regularly seen by medical professionals and providers in Pittsburgh.

Fundraising activities will include a raffle. The team is looking for basket donations for the raffle, or other items as part of the raffle. Monetary donations are also encouraged. All proceeds from the fundraiser will directly support the Coltabaugh family.
