TLC Technology, Library, Classroom
We are celebrating Dr.Seuss week and Read Across America this week and the students are loving it! We have enjoyed guest readers, worn silly socks, and read lots of Dr. Seuss books. It’s a librarian’s dream week!
Our students are reading, but they are also moving ahead with technology. Our Kindergartners have all opened a google document, typed their name and imported a picture. They really get excited when they see their work printed for the first time.
First and second graders have been using Pebblego to find information about science and social studies topics. If you haven’t seen Pebblego take time to browse the site with your child, they will show you how to find it on our Quick Links.
In March we will be looking at Google Maps with grades 1 thru 5. They all enjoy finding their home on Google Earth but we will also look at the United States and world capitals. Grades 4 and 5 will plan a road trip and calculate the mileage. If you are going on a trip ask them to help you plan the route.
Your students are using their Chromebooks every day and they should be practicing keyboarding skills.Typing Club is a free site that is easy to access from our Quick Links page. Encourage them to use it at home and at school.
