Howard Elementary School Principal Skip Pighetti was given the State Leadership award by the National Association of Federal Education Program Administrators – an honor he said wouldn’t be possible without the support from his colleagues and the school board at BEA. The celebration was held in Washington, D.C. on March 19.
The recognition came for his leadership and dedicated service to the Pennsylvania Association of Federal Program Coordinators. He is the federal programs coordinator for the Bald Eagle Area School District.
Pighetti said he has also been a member of the state agency since 2012, serving as a regional representative before being elected president. There, he attends regular meetings, works closely with the Division of Federal Programs through the state Department of Education, sets up workshops, writes articles for the association’s newsletter and more.
“I do all of this because it is a way I can contribute more than at the local level,” he said.
