Bald Eagle Area Middle & Senior High School

Today's world is changing rapidly and will continue to change. Young people must be prepared to face this challenge. They must be given extensive academic knowledge and skill, as these are the basis for further success. Bald Eagle High School offers a great range of academic programs for this purpose.

Each student must schedule a minimum of 42 periods per six-day cycle each semester, and students are encouraged to take additional subjects according to their abilities and interests. Twenty-six (26) credits are needed for graduation. Graduation requirements also include four credits each in mathematics, science, and language arts. Students must also complete a keyboarding course and one computer-related course, as well as physical education and drivers education.

In addition, many opportunities exist for a student's social and emotional development at the Bald Eagle High School. A full program of co-curricular activities is available. Activities include All School Musical, All School Play, Aquila (Yearbook), LEO Service Leaders Club, Chorus, Envirothon, Future Business Leaders of America, Marching Band, Mock Trial, National Honor Society, Spanish Club, Stage Crew, Students Against Destructive Decisions, Student Government (Junior High, Senior High), and Varsity Club.  A diverse program of interscholastic and intramural sports is also available.  Programs include Cheerleading, Cross Country, Football, Girls and Boys Basketball, Girls and Boys Soccer, Volleyball, Wrestling, Baseball, Girls and Boys Track, Softball, Powder Puff Football, and Boys and Girls Bowling. It is our ultimate goal that the high school experience at Bald Eagle Area will contribute toward each child's growth. It is also our hope that in the future students will reflect on their time in high school and view this time as rewarding and enriching.

Parents are encouraged to become actively involved in their child's high school experience. Your interest and support is key in the success of our young people. Remember, if your child is ill and will be missing 2 or more days of school due to illness, please contact the Attendance Office (355-5721) and request assignments.
