On behalf of the staff and administration of the Port Matilda School, I would like to welcome you and your family to what we hope will be another wonderful and enriching school year. Port Elementary is a place where we develop the potential for success with every student, every day, in every way. With the Pennsylvania Standards as our guide, we provide an education based on high expectations for all children. The teachers take the time to get to know each child and work hard to meet the needs of their students, both academically and socially.

We emphasize communication, collaboration, creativity and citizenship. The integration of technology (computers, whiteboards, digital cameras, headsets and the internet) is largely facilitated throughout our school.

Parent involvement is the key to student success. Teachers and parents work together as a team to promote a positive learning enviroment at home and at school. You can get involved in school activities by volunteering in the classroom, joining us for celebrations or attending PTO meetings. Stay involved in your child's education. Ask questions daily about school, homework and upcoming school events.

I am thankful for the opportunity to be the new principal in your BEA community. I value the hopes and dreams of all Port Matilda students. My goal is to provide an experience for all students that will foster a love of learning. If you have any questions, please feel free to stop by the office anytime.
