Bus Safety, School Zone Safety, and Student Drop-off and Pick-up

The vast majority of Bald Eagle Area School District Students are transported by school buses and school vans, and because of this, the Bald Eagle Area School District is dedicated to ensuring our school zones are safe from aggressive driving and unsafe driving practices.  Often during student arrival and dismissal times, some drivers may be in a hurry or may be distracted, which often leads to unsafe conditions for students and others walking and driving in the area.  Parents, caregivers and staff members who drive on school property, and in the neighborhoods near our schools can play an important role in enhancing safety by following safe and courteous driving practices.

  • Please be alert when entering school zones, as children can be unpredictable and could dart in front of you unexpectedly.
  • Slow down and obey all traffic laws, posted speed limits and other traffic signs or signals.
  • Keep your eyes on the road; avoid cell phones, GPS screens, radios and other distractions within the vehicle.
  • Comply with school drop-off and pick-up procedures for the safety of all children.
  • Please be alert when traveling along bus routes; be sure to obey bus signals and do not pass buses when their signals are flashing.

If everyone does their part in practicing safe driving, together we can make Bald Eagle Area School District an even safer place for our students and staff.
