Bald Eagle Area Eagles Varsity wins contest against Penns Valley Area,  5-1
Bald Eagle Area Eagles Varsity got things moving in the second inning.  Bald Eagle Area Eagles Varsity scored two runs when Shae Housel homered.
Sierra Albright took the win for Bald Eagle Area Eagles Varsity. The righty allowed five hits and one run over seven innings, striking out 11 and walking zero.
Taylor Bumgardner took the loss for Penns Valley Area. The hurler surrendered five runs on five hits over six innings, striking out nine.
“Honestly, I thought Taylor (Bumgardner) threw three bad pitches the whole game, and they made us pay,” said Terry Bumgardner. “And we didn’t make a couple plays. But we only scored one run, and it’s tough to win a softball game like that. We just didn’t have enough offense.”

Ava Stere led Bald Eagle Area Eagles Varsity with two hits in two at bats.  Bald Eagle Area Eagles Varsity was sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Kailey Eckert had the most chances in the field with 13.  Bald Eagle Area Eagles Varsity stole ten bases during the game as four players stole more than one. Eckert led the way with three.
Bumgardner went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Penns Valley Area in hits.

Albright, who was brilliant on Thursday. Albright allowed just five hits in her complete game effort, didn’t walk anyone and struck out 11 Lady Rams on the day.
Albright set the single season record for strikeouts during the game. Unofficially she has 231 Ks right now!
